Results of the First Business Day of the Forum and Exhibition Transport of Russia are summed up

The first business day of the Eleventh International Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia” finished in Gostiny Dvor.

The opening ceremony of the forum and exhibition was attended by the Minister of Transport Maxim Sokolov and Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport Sergey Ivanov, who read out the welcome speech of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the participants and guests of the forum.

The forum continued with a plenary session entitled “Transport of Russia.  In Harmony with Nature,” where the topic of improving ecological safety of transport was discussed.

The plenary session was followed by an official tour around the exhibition, and later an official agreement signing ceremony for representatives of government officials, transport companies and business entities was held. In total, during the first day of the forum, 27 agreements were signed, including agreements and memoranda on cooperation, as well as industry and additional agreements.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev visited the exhibition “Transport of Russia”, where he became familiar with priority infrastructure projects, also highly appreciating a number of exhibited novelties. Also  head of the government held a meeting on the results of the implementation of the project “Safe and Quality Roads”.  “Today, we rank only 114th in the world for the quality of roads, and we certainly cannot be happy with this situation. In 2017 more than 31 billion rubles were allocated from the federal budget for this project and more than five thousand kilometers of roads were repaired. Next year, we are going to surpass these indicators,”- Dmitry Medvedev said.

The afternoon started with the 6th International Congress “ERA-GLONASS,”   organized by JSC  GLONASS. In total, the congress featured three events: a plenary session “GLONASS Technologies in Digital Economy”, a round table “Partnership Policy of GLONASS,”   and a Round Table  “Emerging Technologies and Innovative Solutions of GLONASS.” 

Aviaport industry agency presented the results of the quality of service evaluation for the airlines flying to our country, and the rating “Service in the Russian sky 2017”. Two dozen companies were checked by independent experts impersonating “mystery passengers.” The highest grades among Russian airlines participating in the 2017 survey went to Aeroflot - Russian Airlines, Rossiya and S7 Airlines, among foreign airlines the leaders were Lufthansa and Air France.

The business program also featured industry conferences dedicated to transport safety issues; unmanned aircraft systems; development of design solutions for bridge construction, operation and bridges life extension on railways of the Russian Federation, and improvement of the pricing system in the road sector.
