SERIK ZHUSUPOV Executive Director

Born in 1960.
Graduated from the Odessa Institute of Marine Engineers in 1982 as a qualified Oil Engineer of Water Transport. In 1990, he was awarded the Candidate of Technical Sciences degree.
He began his career in 1982 at the Leningrad Commercial Sea Port (later JSC Sea Port of St Petersburg), holding various positions in the company, including Head of the Economic Department, Director of Economics, Director of Operations and Executive Director, until 2003.
From 2003 to 2005, he worked at the Russian Ministry of Transport, firstly as Head of the Department for the Regulation of the Production Activities of Sea Ports, and later as Deputy Director of State Policy on River and Sea Transport. In 2004, he was Head of the Department for State Policy on Rail, Sea and River Transport.
Since 2005, he has been involved in the project to build and operate a sea passenger terminal in the Western part of Vasilyevsky Island in St Petersburg. He was named Executive Director of the Association of Commercial Sea Ports in 2005.
He has been awarded a Certificate of Merit to commemorate Sea and River Fleet Day and an “Honorary Naval Officer” Badge; he has twice received the Diploma of the Governor of St Petersburg (in 2000 and 2003), has been awarded a Medal commemorating “300 Years of the Russian Navy”, and an “Honorary Transport Worker of the Russian Federation” Badge.
