STLC (State Transport Leasing Company) entered the market of leasing services in 2001, but the present name the Company received five years later when 100% of equities were transferred into government ownership. The sole shareholder of the State transport leasing company is the Russian Federation, and management is delegated to the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation. Since 2008 STLC participates in realization of a state policy to stimulate transport industry modernization. Within the Russian Government bailout package the STLC effectively supported domestic producers.
