Results of the first day of the 12th Transport of Russia International Forum and Exhibition

The opening of the 12th Transport of Russia International forum and Exhibition took place on November 20, 2018. During the first day of the event, two discussions and five industry conferences were held. Participants of the forum discussed the most critical aspects of transport digitalization, specifics of work on new platforms and ways to overcome challenges attributed to implementing digital technologies.

Heads of federal and regional ministries, transport authorities, heads of regions, members of the Russian Federation Government, senior executives of the largest Russian and foreign companies engaged in transport and related industries, scientists, representatives of public organizations and banking sector presented their reports on the first day of the forum “Transport of Russia”.

Conference halls within the premises of Gostiny Dvor and stands of participants of the exhibition “Transport of Russia” became an integrated platform to cover key logistics issues and present recent developments in digital technology.

The Opening Ceremony with the welcome address given by Yevgeny Dietrich, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, provided a starting point for the forum. Then, at the plenary session “Transport of Russia. Uniform Digital Platform”, speakers discussed how to build a dialog with new players of the developing market, why digitalization facilitates improvement of control over utilization of transport waste and what prevents unmanned vehicles from cruising Russian roads. Anton Zamkov, Director General, LLC “RT-Invest Transport Systems”, defined the main tasks of the forum participants as follows: “We aim to establish the unified digital platform, introduce a combined ticket and available, clear electronic document flow. All of this has been created to lobby quality and break-through solutions.”

The fuel strategy and distribution of the fuel balance bu 2030 were discussed in the format of separate discussion.

Results of the competition for the best organization of work aimed at additional education for children in sea, river and shipbuilding sectors were summarized at the industry conference entitled “Sea for children” organized by Rosmorrechflot.  The conference covered the first results of the work of YUNFLOT movement functioning under the auspices of all-Russian pre-adolescent military and patriotic social movement YUNARMY.

Participants of the conference “Maritime and river transport as a system element of the backbone  infrastructure” also arranged by Rosmorrechflot discussed measures to enhance the competitiveness of water transport and attract investments in the industry. According to the participants, setting priorities of development, the role and place of these modes of transport in the transport system of the country promotes efficient use of the existing reserves and enhancing the competitiveness. “We need to develop inland river routes and re-direct freight transportation on them reserving land transport for passengers,” said Igor Levitin, Aide to the President of the Russian Federation. According to speakers, for Russia, water transport is a prospective area improvement of which is strongly supported by developing digital technologies.

Regional aviation at the forum was given consideration at the conference “Regional aviation as a system element of the backbone infrastructure”. Subsidizing air transportation and development of infrastructure in general were the may topics covered by the speakers.

Following industry conference “Public road system. Digitalization” the speakers concluded that digital technologies and platforms enable the system to remain transparent, available and competitive.

Traffic safety, improvement of transport operation and increasing its appeal to passengers were discussed at the conference “Urban Transport. Digitization of urban and suburban service”. The participants returned to the topic of unmanned transport, selling online tickets on all routes, dynamic of passenger traffic in the capital agglomeration and the ways for the regions to adopt such experience.

The first day of “Transport of Russia” with its productivity and informativity set the right pace for the entire forum.
