I would like to extend a warm welcome to the organizers and participants of Transport Week 2017.

The Forum has established itself as a high-profile platform that brings together representatives of public authorities, multilateral unions, as well as business and expert communities to exchange ideas on the topical issues of the industry, including prospects for implementing major infrastructure projects, formation of international transit corridors, and introduction of innovative technologies.

Today, transport is among the powerhouses of global economic growth. Promotion of further cooperation in this area is one of our top priorities. Particular attention is paid to the creation of an efficient transit system within the EEU, as well as its connection with the "One Belt and One Road" initiative and the European transport network.

We assume that successful development of transport links in Eurasia, utilizing the potential of the Northeast Passage and multimodal corridors "East-West" and "North-South", will contribute to the emergence of a brand new economic architecture in the region, in line with the Great Eurasian Partnership concept put forward by President Vladimir Putin. It is obvious that addressing numerous problems of our time requires consolidated efforts.

I believe that the results of the meeting would streamline the establishment of new initiatives aimed to improve international cooperation in the field of transportation and logistics.
