The 11th International Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia” continues the work in Moscow. In two days, the event was attended by 2500 participants - representatives of 895 companies; 120 exhibitors from 39 countries took part in the exhibition. In addition, 28 agreements were signed during two business days of the forum.

Vitaly Mutko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, visited the stand of ANO Transport Directorate 2018 dedicated to the free commuter system during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Together with Vitaly Mutko the stand was visited by Maxim Sokolov, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, and Nikolay Asaul, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation. Kirill Polyakov, CEO of ANO Transport Directorate 2018, introduced the guests to the transportation and logistics services to be used by the fans attending the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The second business day started with the Business Breakfast hosted by the Minister of Transport Maxim Sokolov, where the issues of attracting investments in transport infrastructure were discussed. According to Maxim Sokolov, the transportation strategy of the Russian Federation, adopted in 2014 by the special government resolution, needs to be adjusted. “If industry strategies are goal-setting documents, then the state strategy is a document aimed at planning and programming. And it is here that the project approach comes to the foreground. This approach proved effective during implementation of the large-scale program “Safe and Quality Roads”. It’s on the basis of this experience that we plan our further activities,” he said.

The industry conference entitled “Sea Calling” discussed the current state of the water transport industry, as well as the issues, goals and challenges that the industry will face in the future. According to the experts, the market of cargo transportation, ship-building and ship-ownership is growing, Russian freight and passenger fleet is aging, and the problem of shipbuilding looms large. The issue of the need for attracting private investments to finance "hard" infrastructure, ports and terminals, was also touched upon. Discussing the mechanisms for attracting investments, the participants agreed that project finance, and infrastructure bonds issue are the most attractive mechanisms for today.

In the afternoon a plenary session “Transport of Russia. Growth Projects” was held, where Maxim Sokolov, Minister of Transport, Igor Levitin, Aide to the President of the Russian Federation, Pavel Kadochnikov , President of the Center for Strategic Research, and a number of other experts spoke. The speakers discussed transport industry potential for digital economy development, the issue of attracting investments into large infrastructure projects, the use of design-thinking principles for creating high-quality transport products and a number of other topics. Minister of Transport Maxim Sokolov noted that the transport industry is a growth multiplier for Russian economy in general, and large transport projects implemented in the regions initiate the upgrading of regional infrastructure.   Aide to the President of the Russian Federation   Igor Levitin  , spoke on attracting investments into the transport sector, noting that the challenge for the government is to create a congenial investment climate.

Sergey Kelbakh, Chairman of the Management Board of State Company Avtodor, and Pavel Seleznev, Chairman of the Board of the Association “Public-Private Partnership Development Center,” signed the Memorandum  on becoming founding members of the Association “Public-Private Partnership Development Center”.

The business program included an ESCAP seminar; an industry conference dedicated to the control and supervisory activities reform; a round table on “green” vehicle standards, coordinating transport meeting of the CIS member states; a research and practice conference on mobility management and a round table “Digital Future of the Transport Industry”. There were also a number of industry round tables, discussions and meetings dedicated to the mechanisms for financing road infrastructure, its digitization, and current problems and trends in Russian transport education.

Also was held the award ceremony for the winners of the 4th Formula of Motion Prize for the Achievements in Transportation and Transport Infrastructure. The Best Infrastructure Project prize went to FSUE State Corporation for Air Traffic Management jointly with JSC Concern VKO “Almaz-Antey” for their project entitled “Moscow Center for Automated Air Traffic Control (MC AATC).”

Black Sea Cruises LLC was awarded The Best Solution in the field of Passenger Transport prize for the Black Sea cruise on board the Prince Vladimir liner. The projects “Panda Land Bridge Railway Service of Non-Resource Export” developed by RZD Logistics and “Implementation of Multimodal Transportation Between Moscow and the Cities of Northwestern Federal District Using Innovative High-Speed Trains” developed by Direction of high-speed communication - a branch of JSC Russian Railways - were recognized as The Best Solutions in Logistics Sector.

The prize for The Best Innovative Solution In The Field Of Transport Equipment was awarded to the Marine Rescue Service of Rosmorrechflot and UCL Holding (JSC Okskaya Sudoverf) for SDS18 multifunctional sea diving catamaran named “Igor Ilyin”.

The project “Crimean Bridge. Conquering the Fairway”  developed by Crimean Bridge information center and FSI Federal Highway Administration “Taman” has become the best PR-activity of this year.

The prize for the Unique Technological Operation was awarded to  STROYGAZMONTAZH LLC jointly with NTO Mostootryad-1 (branch of PJSC Mostotrest) and Marine Project Management LLC for the operation of transportation and installation of arched spans of Crimean bridge structures.
