Investment in transport sector is main theme of VII International Forum “Transport of Russia”

The VII International Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia”, which is a key event of Transport Week 2013, will take place from 5 to 7 December in Gostiny Dvor, Moscow.

The theme of investment in the transport sector was judged to be fundamental at the latest meeting of the Russian Ministry of Transport’s organising committee for exhibitions and fairs.

“Transport Week” is a unique format which every year brings together all the representatives of the transport industry. More than 5,000 delegates usually take part in the “Transport Week” events, including:

• members of the government of the Russian Federation
• senior officials from the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and of industry- -related agencies
• senior officials from foreign ministries and agencies
• heads of regions and regional transport agencies
• senior executives from major companies and state-owned corporations
• representatives of industry unions and associations
• representatives of major business and industry media.

It is planned that the exhibition will include demonstrations of the latest achievements in the Russian transport sector. Exhibitors include manufacturers of transport equipment, freight and passenger transport operators, investment companies and banks, construction organisations, manufacturers and suppliers of communications equipment and systems, communications, safety and signalling devices, transport infrastructure owners and operators and regions presenting significant infrastructure projects.

Transport Week 2013 will also examine a number of strategic objectives and the prospects for innovative development of the Russian transport system.

The International Exhibition “Transport of Russia”, the International Congress “ROAD TRAFFIC RUSSIA-2013”, the V Russian Spartakiad Games of Transport University Students, and the Russian festival of creativity “TranspArt-2013” are annual events within “Transport Week”, which concludes with the Youth Forum that takes place on the last day of “Transport Week” in a “no ties” format.
