Transport Week 2014 brings together the best representatives of the transport community for the 8th time

Speaking at a regular meeting of the steering committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation for exhibitions and fairs, Minister Maxim Sokolov emphasised the significance of the event and called it an "accompanying brand of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation" that will serve as an indicator of the performance of Russia's entire transport complex.

Proactive development of the transport infrastructure and efforts to ensure that regional transport strategies comply with the fundamental federal document are the key ideas of this year's "Transport Week". The plenary session is expected to address the framework required for launching and successfully implementing major transport infrastructure projects.

Transport Week 2014 will feature the VIII International Exhibition "Transport of Russia", Business Breakfast with the Minister of Transport, II Transport Education Forum, "Young Scientists of the Transport Sector" Forum, International Congress "ROAD TRAFFIC Russia 2014. Traffic Management in the Russian Federation", the V Russian University Games of Transport University Students, and the "TranspART 2014" All-Russian Art Festival of Transport University Students.

The key event of the transport sector annually brings together more than 2,000 delegates from Russia, the CIS and non-CIS countries representing all modes of transport. More than 80 leading transport companies present their innovations at the Forum's exhibition area of 3,500 square metres.

Transport Week 2013 featured demonstrations of projects for developing the Baikal–Amur Mainline, the Trans-Siberian Railway and high-speed railways, the Central Ring Road, the Taman port, and the Moscow transport and airport hubs. The exhibition was attended by more than 7,000 visitors. The number of strategically important agreements signed at the event was at an all-time high. Welcome addresses to the participants in Transport Week 2013 were sent by Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, Chair of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko, Chair of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin, and Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Maxim Sokolov.
