News of Participants in Transport Week 2014

FSUE Makhachkala Sea Trade Port will support Transport Week 2014 as a "Sponsor".

Makhachkala Seaport has a favourable position at the intersection of centuries-old trading routes, possesses a well-developed infrastructure and, notably, operates on a year-round basis. A crucial component in the transportation of general cargoes, Caspian oil and petroleum products from Kazakhstan, Iran and Turkmenistan, Makhachkala Seaport is of increasing relevance to the collaboration between our countries in the modern context.

The dry-cargo harbour consists of piers for general, bulk cargoes and containers, a rail and auto-ferry terminal, and a grain terminal with a combined annual capacity of 3.1 million tonnes. The port's oil-loading harbour is a modern specialized complex for transhipment of light and dark petroleum products with an annual capacity of 7.9 million tonnes.

Further development and modernisation of the seaport industry of Makhachkala will be based upon relevant Programmes that are either adopted or already underway, given the anticipated development of international transport flows and planned integration of the Russian Federation into the global freight transport system.

Transport Week 2014 will take place at the Gostiny Dvor Exhibition Centre, Moscow, from 1 to 6 December 2014.Transport Week 2014 will feature the VIII International Exhibition “Transport of Russia”, a Business Breakfast with the Minister of Transport, the II Transport Education Forum, “Young Scientists of the Transport Sector” Forum, the International Congress “ROAD TRAFFIC Russia 2014. Traffic Management in the Russian Federation”, the VI Russian Spartakiad Games of Transport University Students, and the “TranspART 2014” All-Russian Art Festival of Transport University Students, and the Career Fair.
