The purpose of Russian River Register (RRR) activity is the performance of kinds of work (rendering services) aimed at ensuring technical safety of inland and river-sea navigation ships, protection of life and health of the passengers and ship crews, safety of the cargoes transported on ships, prevention of pollution from ships.
RRR carries out classification of inland and river-sea navigation ships with issuance of the relevant certificates, hereat:

  • carries out technical supervision over the observance of its Rules in designing, construction, renewal, conversion, modernization, repair and operation of ships, manufacture of materials and products, carries out surveys of organizations performing the aforementioned kinds of work with issuance of the relevant documents;
  • carries out survey of ships in service with issuance of relevant documents;
  • carries out survey of ships classed by other classification societies in case they enter inland navigation waterways of the Russian Federation according to the established order;
  • performs project documentation development, calculations, certification of products, work, services, quality management systems, , verification of safety and pollution prevention management systems according to the order established by the legislation of the Russian Federation.

RRR consists of the Head Office and 14 Branch Offices located on the territory of the Russian Federation. 22,5 thousand vessels are registered and classed by RRR. RRR cooperates on bilateral basis with 19 foreign classification societies and organizations on the issues of maritime safety and safety on inland waterways.

The United Transport and Forwarding Company (OTEKO) is the biggest private investor in the port infrastructure in Southern Russia.

Since the early 2000s, OTEKO has launched a comprehensive investment program to construct terminals at the port of Taman.

As a part of this investment program, major complexes for transshipment of Liquefied petroleum gas, oil and oil products have been launched. Today, the terminals can transship 20 m tons of cargo a year. The construction was financed by the company, with no money from the federal budget being attracted. In addition to terminals, group of companies OTEKO also builds federal facilities, which are transferred into state ownership on a non-repayable basis.

The next step in implementing the terminal capacity building program is the construction of a dry bulk terminal capable of transshipping 35 m tons of coal, iron ore, sulphur and fertilizers a year, and the construction of a 14.5 m tons grain terminal. The capacity of the terminals as well as the range of cargoes may be extended, depending on market demand.

All terminal complexes of group of companies OTEKO are built according to state-of-the-art technologies and meet the most rigorous international standards, with respect to environmental safety.

In addition, OTEKO operates railway rolling stock consisting of some 15 000 units. It has its own rolling stock repair works located in Ryazan, one of the biggest facilities of this kind in Russia as well as the fleet of long-distance and shunting locomotives.

The United Nations Development Programme in partnership with the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation implements a Global Environment Facility Project "Reducing GHG emissions from road transport in Russia's medium-sized cities".

The project duration: 2013 - 2017.

United Transport and Logistics Company (UTLC) was registered on November 13th, 2014. The company was established by JSC RZD, Belarusian Railways and JSC NK KTZ.

The idea to establish UTLC flows organically from the creation of the Customs Union and it is one of the key factors for development of the Eurasian Economic Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
