I welcome you on the occasion of the opening of the 13^th International Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia”.

A single transport agency was established in our country 210 years ago along with the first specialized educational institution. Thus, design, construction and operation of communication lines became systematic. Since then, many generations of scientists, engineers and specialists have made a huge contribution to the formation of the national transport complex.

Let me point out that the problems of the effective development of the transport industry are considered to be important state priorities. Among the main, key tasks are modernization of the infrastructure of the complex, creation of large logistics hubs and international trade corridors, reliable and safe vehicles, optimization of management decision-making. It is important to enhance the implementation of innovative technologies, to use public-private partnerships more extensively.

I believe that the Forum and Exhibition participants will substantively discuss these and other relevant issues on a professional and expert level. They will offer new constructive ideas and initiatives that will contribute to improving the transport industry’s competitiveness of our country in the world markets.
