Exhibition Transport of Russia: Through Time to the Future opens in the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia
Starting from October 1 till November 3, 2019 the exhibition Transport of Russia: Through Time to the Future confined to 210th anniversary of the transport agency and industry vocational training system shall take place in the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation is the organizer of the exhibition. Official partner: FSUE “Rosmorport”.
In 2019, the transport agency and industry vocational training system celebrate their 210th anniversary. In celebration of this event the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation plans to launch educational exhibition project Transport of Russia: Through Time to the Future.
The exposition covers major milestones in the development of the Russian transport complex for the last 210 years, starting from signing of the Manifesto on establishment of the first joint transport authority in the history of my country and opening of the first industry educational institution to the latest developments of our contemporaries. The Trans-Siberian Railway, Arctic exploration, use of railways during the Russian Civil War in 1917–1922, heroic labor of the transport workers during the Great Patriotic War, beginning of the era of jet aviation, construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline, development of the transport infrastructure for Sochi 2014 Olympic Games, Moscow Central Diameters represent just a small part of the topics that shall be covered at the exhibition. Complexes of materials from national leading industry higher educational institutions concerning specific features with regard to training of highly qualified specialists for the transport industry shall make a separate unit. The exhibition shall also focus on the prospects related to development of national transport.
The visitors of the exhibition shall get an insight into formation of the transport industry and education, major achievements in the spheres of water, railway and road transport, creation and development of metro transport, transport infrastructure and education. At the exhibition you shall get to know key personalities of the transport industry who made a significant contribution to its development and you shall see unique art pieces depicting memorable events in history.
Genuine exhibits from the fund collections of the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia, industry museums of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, private collections and transport companies, including documents, photos, collectibles, rare publications from the book collection, art pieces, etc. shall make the basis of the exhibition. The organizers paid serious attention to the modern equipment: interactive multimedia programs available at topic-related touch-screen desks, as well as audio and video materials on TV panels, video projection systems and photo frames with photos, videos and documents that shall help the visitors to get a deep insight into major periods in formation and development of the Russian transport system.
Moreover, within the framework of the exhibition interactive museum and educational events (quests, quizzes) and lectures shall be provided on daily basis, as well as topic-related and general observation tours shall be given to the visitors of the exhibition.
Exhibition Transport of Russia: Through Time to the Future shall take place at: 21, ul. Tverskaya, Moscow, the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia (exhibition halls Nos. 20, 28). Museum working hours: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday: from 11:00 a.m. till 7:00 p.m., Wednesday: from 12:00 a.m. till 9:00 p.m. The ticket office shall close 30 min before the end of museum working hours.
