One Month Till the Opening of the Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia”
In exactly one month, on November 19, the opening of the 13th International Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia” will take place. These are the key events of the Transport Week, which will be held for the thirteenth time in 2019 and will be the culmination of the celebration of the 210th anniversary of the transport agency and the transport education of Russia.
The 13th International Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia” will be held for three days, each of these days will have its own name reflecting the general subject of the formats: #Infrastructure, #Integration, #Transportation. A wide range of issues related to the construction of a transport infrastructure, improvement of the quality, accessibility and safety of transport, digitalization of transport services will be discussed as part of the activities.
The first day will start with a breakfast meeting of the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation with the Heads of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The theme of the breakfast meeting is the Development of Transport Infrastructure in the Regions of Russia. Participants of the format will discuss the implementation of projects of the Integrated Plan for Modernization and Expansion of Backbone Infrastructure, the role of the development institutions in the system of national projects, attraction of private capital in the transport industry.
A number of events concerning integration issues is planned within the Forum, including a plenary discussion on the topic: Transport is the Basis of Eurasian Integration with the participation of Ministers of Transport of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states and Heads of international organizations, including Kitack Lim, the Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
On the third day of the Forum, industry conferences, included in the program of this day, will continue. On this day, the final plenary discussion will be held, where the results of the Forum will be presented and the winners of the Formula of Movement National Award will be awarded.
More than 100 exhibitors will present their achievements and developments within the Exhibition “Transport of Russia” on the 3,700 sq. m. area. The exhibitors include federal agencies, state corporations, Russian and foreign private companies, educational institutions whose activities are related to the transport sector. Russian regions will also present their projects in transport infrastructure.
Let us remind you that the transport agency and industry vocational training system celebrate their 210th anniversary in 2019. The historical roots of this event go back to 1809, when on November 20 (December 2 new style) the Manifesto of Emperor Alexander I established the first unified transport control system in the history of the country – the Department of Water and Land Communications, as well as opened the first transport educational institution – the Institute of the Corps of Railway Engineers (now – Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University).
