Gostiny Dvor Hosted the Ninth International “ERA GLONASS”
On November 19, during the first day of the 13th International Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia”, the Ninth International “ERA GLONASS” Congress took place. The congress organizer and sponsor is GLONASS JSC.
The International “ERA GLONASS” Congress is one of the largest discussion platforms in Russia to share experience, find solutions and consolidate efforts in improving transport security, creating intelligent transport systems, developing information and navigation technologies for the purpose of improvement of the quality of life of Russian citizens. The event was attended by representatives of state, public and commercial structures, partners from European countries and member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The Congress lasted for the whole day and comprised of three meetings each of which was focused on various aspects of “ERA GLONASS” system usage.
The key topic of the Congress this year is as follows: “ERA GLONASS: Technologies for People, Business, State”. The business program was dedicated to the development prospects of the “ERA GLONASS” system, digitalization of the transport industry, creation of a single safety space on the roads of Eurasia, practice of introducing innovative services, export of Russian solutions.
This year the congress was opened by a number of senior government official at once: Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Evgeny Ditrich, Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport Sergei Ivanov, as well as Aide to the President Igor Levitin. They all have unanimously noted the importance and versatility of “ERA GLONASS” system development, as well as the significance of the congress itself as of a discussion platform.
Among the topics discussed within the congress there were changes in the legal and regulatory framework related with monitoring of passenger and freight traffic, usage of “ERA GLONASS” for of photo and video recording of traffic and other law violations, usage of navigation technologies for housing and public utilities, staff performance control and application in related industries, and many others.
