Results of the First Day of the 13th International Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia”
November 19 was the first day of the 13th International Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia”. 13 business venues took place in Gostiny Dvor, 26 cooperation agreements were signed, several thousands of people visited the exhibition.
The forum started with a Breakfast Meeting with the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation on Development of Transport Infrastructure in the Regions of Russia. Evgeny Ditrich, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, has discussed Russian transport sector achievements and prospects with the guests. For instance, in 2019 investment amount in transport infrastructure has increased by more then 14 % and amounted to 2.4 trillion rubles, including 1.5 trillion rubles of extra-budgetary investments; toll road M11 has almost been completed and a newly built Saratov airport has been opened. Speeches were delivered by Heads of Russian regions, as well as by top managers of state and big private companies. During the conversation the participants discussed regional transport sectors condition, investor interest protection, and industry prospects.
Upon the Breakfast Meeting an official walk-round of the exhibition took place, including Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Evgeny Ditrich and Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport Sergei Ivanov. The delegation has also visited booths of Rostov Oblast, Bashkortostan and JSC Vostochny Port. During the walk-round a teleconference between the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation and the Far East has been arranged near the booth of JSC Vostochny Port. The teleconference was dedicated to submerging of half a billion tons of coal since Vostochny Port entity started its operation.
Over ten business venues has been held during the first day. One of the main events of the first day has been the International “ERA GLONASS” Congress which is one of the largest discussion platform in Russia to share experience, find solutions and consolidate efforts in improving transport security, creating intelligent transport systems, developing information and navigation technologies for the purpose of improvement of the quality of life of Russian citizens. The event has been attended by representatives of state, public and commercial structures, partners from European countries and member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Railway transportation sector representatives have arranged a conference dedicated to the industry issues and prospects. During the discussion the experts have paid a lot of attention to a legal and financial regulation of railway construction in Russia. At the beginning of the session Moscow transport section representatives have described an ambitious project of the Moscow Central Diameters in details.
A separate conference on marine transport has also taken place within the framework of the Forum. The experts have discussed high achievements of the industry, but mentioned that the President of the Russian Federation has referred to port capacity increase as to one of the national objectives for the period up to 2024. The Comprehensive Plan for Updating and Expanding Main Infrastructure through 2024 (CPUI) includes projects on marine port development for over 330 million tons in total.
Towards the end of the first day of the Forum a Conference “Development of Digital Infrastructure” organized by PJSC Sberbank has been carried out. The speakers described the achieved success and shared their vision on the future of the industry. One of the main discussion topics was development of services for selling of a single travel document uniting several types of transport, as well as of associated services. The panelists see the solution in transport services market players cooperation aimed at providing comprehensive service to the passengers.
The first day of the 13th International Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia” has been filled with business venues and events which have been participated by transport sector and adjoining industries leaders. However it is only the first day out of three that is over: the Forum and Exhibition participants and guest are to become involved into more interesting venues.
