Organizers Summarized the 13th International Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia”

The 13th International Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia” held November 19–21, in Moscow at Gostiny Dvor came to an end. The events were held within the framework of the “Transport Week–2019” which has become the culmination of the celebration of the 210th anniversary of the transport agency and the transport education of Russia.

In 2019, 31 venues took place and more than 250 speakers took the floor within the framework of Forum “Transport of Russia”. Jointly, 3000 people took part in the business program. The Exhibition accommodated more than 100 exhibitors with 12,000 visitors who viewed their booths. Representatives of more than 42 countries are among the participants. The “Transport o Russia” ground witnessed conclusion of 48 agreements which is almost twice as large a number as last year.

Special attention shall be paid to unprecedented interest in the Forum and Exhibition among foreign and regional agencies. Thus, Heads of 42 regions took part in “Transport of Russia” this year and 71 delegations from constituent entities of the Russian Federation were among the participants.

Traditionally, results of Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia” are widely covered in press. This year, events at Gostiny Dvor were visited by 734 journalists from 281 mass media. Specifically, such federal news agencies as TASS, International News Agency “Rossiya Segodnya”, Interfax, and federal TV-channels – Channel One Russia, NTV, Russia-24, RBC, etc., covered events at “Transport of Russia”.

Three-day agenda of the Forum was extremely tight. The first day – November 19 – started with a Breakfast Meeting with the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation on Development of Transport Infrastructure in the Regions of Russia. Evgeny Ditrich, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, has discussed Russian transport industry achievements and prospects with the guests. Speeches were delivered by Heads of Russian regions, as well as by top managers of state and big private companies. During the conversation the participants reviewed regional transport sector condition, investor interest protection, and industry prospects.

“Year 2019 was rewarding for transport, amount of investment in transport infrastructure increased by more than 14%. This year 2.4 trillion rubles were raised for transport, 1.5 trillion rubles from the sum are extra-budgetary investments. We keep well to the schedule and plan to approach the sum of 2 trillion rubles invested in transport and transport infrastructure”, Evgeny Ditrich noted. 

Over ten business venues were held during the first day. Among them are sessions of the 9th International Congress “ERA GLONASS” as well as conferences dedicated to issues and prospects of railway transportation sector, maritime transport, and digital infrastructure of passenger transport.

On November 20, the second day of the 13th International Forum and Exhibition “Transport of Russia”, the main plenary discussion “Transport Is the Basis of Eurasian Integration” was held with the participation of transport ministers of the EAEU member states and representatives of international organizations. Within the framework of the business venue, senior executives of Russia and their foreign counterparts discussed various points of view on the development of the EAEU transport industry.

On November 21, Strategy Forum of the Digital Transport and Logistics Association was held the entire day within the framework of “Transport of Russia”; at this forum, representatives of business and state agencies discussed methods and technologies for digitalization integration in all the transport industry sectors. The strategy forum included three parts: plenary discussion “Digital Transformation of Transport: dialog between business and government”, speech session “Digital Breakthrough”, and session “Unmanned Aircraft Traffic: from the Far North to Towns and Cities”.

Forum “Transport of Russia” was concluded by the Final Plenary Discussion which was attended by senior executives of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. Before the business venue began, annual award ceremony for winners of the National Award for achievements in transport industry and transport infrastructure “Formula of Movement” was held. In total 10 companies who have won in 7 nominations received the awards.

Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Zverev spoke about impressive extent of international cooperation within the Forum framework, during the final session. “More than three hundred of foreign guests, more than forty countries, and seven international organizations took part in the event, more than twenty meetings and bilateral negotiations were organized for heads of transport agencies, and several important agreements were signed”, Dmitry Zverev summarized.
