Given its geography and scale, transport infrastructure is particularly important for the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) as it ensures territorial integrity and unity of economic space.. Aggressive development in automobile transport calls for more efficient solutions for road construction and operation throughout their entire lifecycle. Intelligent transport systems are regarded as the innovative foundation for the regional infrastructure development and help enhance traffic safety and accessibility.
The Innovations in Road Infrastructure International Road Congress seeks to create an international platform for active cooperation, information exchange, ensuring access to state-of-the-art-technology, statistics, sharing best practices in road safety and establishing partnership contacts. It is for the first time that the International Road Federation will stage the Congress in Russia. Over 300 members from Russia, CIS, Europe and Central Asia will attend the gathering.
